Exfoliate Your Way to a Clearer and Fairer Skin

A Couple Using Exfoliating Face Mask

Remember that the outermost layer of the skin is made of dead cells. The skin layers move up and replace dead skin cells. Through time, it is possible for dead skin cells to build up. The skin can get uneven and some regions may thicken—making lines and spots visible.
Skin exfoliation solves this problem. It is a way of cleaning the skin by mild abrasion. To exfoliate, one can use scrubbing, mild exfoliants or face cloths.
You can use loofah or scrubbing gloves to gently scrub your face. Of course, you will need to apply exfoliating cleansers. Scrub with small circular motions. Do not scrub too hard for it may damage your skin. Take extra care with the regions around the eyes because the skin here is very thin.
There are also exfoliating cleansers that require no scrubbing gloves. Their formula includes scrubbing particles. The particles are not readily dissolved by water, allowing them to act as micro-facial scrubs.
Another method to exfoliate the skin is by application of exfoliants. They come in liquid or cream formulations. Wash your face with gentle soap and let it dry. Then, apply the exfoliants by cotton on the face and neck. Depending on the power of the exfoliant, the skin can be renewed in just 2 weeks.
A new method, which is gaining popularity, is the use of face cloths. Each face cloth is designed for single use only. After washing or scrubbing your face, you will let the face cloth sit on your face. Follow the length of time as instructed in the package. Some face cloths may require wetting to activate the exfoliating solution.
You can also make natural exfoliating masks from papaya. Mash it, smear it on your face and let it sit.
Exfoliating the skin will remove the ugly outermost layer of dead cells. This will make your skin look brighter and clearer. You can also achieve a fairer complexion.
