Pregnancy Food Facts: What's Safe to Eat?

Which craving could be a sign something important is missing from your diet?
Food cravings are normal when you're expecting, and it's generally OK to give in to them. Just don't overdo it. But craving other things that aren't food, such as ice, laundry detergent, paint chips, or clay, may mean you have something called pica. Tell your doctor right away. Eating things that aren't food is risky for you and your baby. And it could leave you lacking important nutrients.

Sex During and After Pregnancy

Pregnant women and their partners often wonder if it's safe to have sex during pregnancy. Will it result in miscarriage? Will it harm the unborn baby? Are there sex positions to avoid? Here's the information you've been looking for.
The contractions of orgasm aren't the same as labor contractions. Still, as a general safety precaution, some doctors advise avoiding sex in the final weeks of pregnancy, believing that hormones in semen called prostaglandins can stimulate contractions. One exception may be for women who are overdue and want to induce labor. Some doctors believe that prostaglandins in semen actually induce labor in a full-term or past-due pregnancy, since the gel used to "ripen" the cervix and induce labor also contains prostaglandins. But other doctors believe this semen/labor connection is only theoretical and that having sex doesn't trigger labor.
As for orgasm, those contractions aren't the same as labor contractions. So there's no problem there.
Every woman's experiences during pregnancy are different -- including how she feels about sex.
For some, desire fades during pregnancy. Other women feel more deeply connected to their sexuality and more aroused when they're pregnant.
During pregnancy, it's normal for sexual desire to come and go as your body changes. You may feel self-conscious as your belly grows. Or you may feel sexier with larger, fuller breasts.
Tell your partner what you're feeling and what works. You may need to play with positions, especially later in pregnancy, to find one that's both comfortable and stimulating for you.
Avoid lying flat on your back in the "missionary position" for sex after the fourth month of pregnancy. That way, you can avoid the weight of the growing baby constricting major blood vessels.
Another way to make sex more comfortable is to try lying sideways together. Or you might try positioning yourself upright or sitting on top.
As always, if you're not absolutely sure about your partner's sexual history, use condoms. Pregnancy doesn't protect against sexually transmitted infections -- such as HIV, herpes, genital warts, or chlamydia -- and those infections can affect your baby.
For both you and your partner, patience is a virtue. Given the realities and stresses of early parenthood, it can take up to a year for a couple's normal sex life to return in full bloom.
Is Sex Safe During Pregnancy?
Sex is a natural, normal part of pregnancy -- if you're having a normal pregnancy. Penetration and intercourse’s movement won't harm the baby, who is protected by your abdomen and the uterus’ muscular walls. Your baby is also cushioned by the amniotic sac’s fluid. When Not to Have Sex During Pregnancy
Your doctor may advise you not to have sex if you have any of the following types of high-risk pregnancy:- You're at risk for miscarriage or history of past miscarriages
- You're at risk for preterm labor (contractions before 37 weeks of pregnancy)
- You're having vaginal bleeding, discharge, or cramping without a known cause
- Your amniotic sac is leaking fluid or has ruptured membranes
- Your cervix has opened too early in pregnancy
- Your placenta is too low in the uterus (placenta previa)
- You're expecting twins, triplets, or other "multiples"
Every woman's experiences during pregnancy are different -- including how she feels about sex.
For some, desire fades during pregnancy. Other women feel more deeply connected to their sexuality and more aroused when they're pregnant.

Sex After Pregnancy
The first six weeks after delivery are called the postpartum period. Sex during this time may be the last thing on your mind. Reasons your desire for sex may decrease are:- Healing from an episiotomy (incision during vaginal delivery)
- Healing from abdominal incisions after cesarean birth
- Normal postpartum bleeding, common for four to six weeks after birth
- Fatigue after pregnancy and the birthing process
- Demands of your newborn (increased if you had twins or triplets)
- Changing hormone levels
- Sore breasts from breastfeeding
- Emotional issues, such as postpartum blues, anxiety over parenting, or relationship issues with the father
For both you and your partner, patience is a virtue. Given the realities and stresses of early parenthood, it can take up to a year for a couple's normal sex life to return in full bloom.

-- Deep penetration should be at the discretion and comfort of the mother.
-- Water or air (or any foreign objects) in the vagina should not be part of any sex play during pregnancy. Douching should never be done during pregnancy.

Sex and Pregnancy

Your sex drive may be raging one day and nonexistent the next—we’ll explain the science behind the phenomenon of sex and pregnancy.. Your pregnancy-related mood swings can definitely have you laughing one minute and sobbing the next. This applies to your bedroom moods as well.
You may be craving nothing more than a steamy sex session and then the next day, nothing. Your partner may think it’s maddening, but it’s not your fault—it’s the hormones.
QUIZ: Sexual Satisfaction
Much of what’s happening in your body is working to boost your sex drive. As your progesterone and estrogen levels rise, they increase your libido through different bodily changes.
Estrogen heightens sensitivity in your breasts and nipples, increases vaginal lubrication and boosts blood flow to your pelvic area. The ample curves may also make you feel sexier.
Put those symptoms together, and you’ve got a recipe for romance. It can also be liberating to not have to deal with birth control.
On the other hand, those hormones can conspire against you. Especially in the beginning, fatigue and nausea dictate that your bed is used for rest, sleep and foot rubs, only. In the last trimester, you may feel more uncomfortable than a concrete couch. That means there may be a zero-percent chance you want to have sex.
The X factor in the sex-drive equation is the relationship between your changing moods and your changing body, which hormones influence. The result is that how you feel about your body (and how you think your partner feels about your body) plays a part in whether or not you want to combine sex and pregnancy.
Every woman’s pregnancy is unique, and so is her sex drive. Yours may change from day to day or hour to hour. After birth you’ll have a dramatic falloff in estrogen. This means it’s likely your sex drive will drop after birth and remain low for several months, if you’re breastfeeding.
This makes sense because a pregnancy so soon after delivery would mean that nutrients would be diverted to one offspring at the expense of another. Given that your body needs extra time to heal after childbirth, your lack of libido serves as a hormonally-mediated protective mechanism. So how's a woman to handle sex and pregnancy?
First of all, if you want to have sex, go ahead. As long as your pregnancy is proceeding normally, you can have sex as often as you’d like.
Note: It’s not uncommon for pregnant women to experience some bright red bleeding during intercourse, especially in the first trimester. There’s a lot of swelling in your cervix’s capillaries at this time. When irritated during sex, they burst and release blood. It’s generally nothing to worry about, but you should still mention it to your midwife or doctor.
There are uncommon cases in which you shouldn’t have sex. Your doctor will guide you. She may recommend you refrain from sex if you’re leaking amniotic fluid, at risk for preterm labor, your cervix begins opening prematurely or if you have placenta previa.
If your uterus is in a typical position, there’s no risk of hurting the baby during intercourse. The amniotic fluid protects the baby from impact.
The angle of the vagina, relative to the space in your womb, decreases the probability of direct contact with the fetus. Plus, there’s a mucous plug, which blocks the cervix during pregnancy. Thus, there’s virtually no chance of unintended contact (between what’s in you for nine months and what would be inside you for only nine minutes, give or take).
The loss of sex drive may not worry a woman as much as how that libido loss affects her relationship with her partner. You may feel bad about not wanting sex, especially knowing your sex life will be on hold for a few weeks after your delivery. So, you may force yourself to have sex when you don’t want to, which is disheartening. Or, you put him off and worry he’ll look elsewhere.
The simplest thing you can do to remedy this situation? Talk to your partner. Silence is a romance killer. Explaining that your back hurts or you’re zapped of energy will do wonders.
Beyond communication, the solution to this sex scenario comes down to adaptation. This is your ability to change your sexual relationship, so it’s not sexual per se. Rather, it’s about increasing the eroticism, passion and sensuality in your relationship.
Making this mutual pact with your partner will go a long way toward keeping your existing bond, while you’re focused on a creating a new one. While you’re at it, appreciate your mate for the little compromises they’re willing to make for your happiness, even if the sex isn’t what you planned.

Sex with pregnant wife

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:
As Salam. If someone`s wife is pregnant and doctors advise is to avoid sex then what are the options availabe for husband? Can he use wife`s body parts(except anal canal- stool passing area) to release stress?
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
Sex pregnant wife
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is absolutely no restriction in Islam if one wishes to enjoy conjugal relationship with one’s wife during her term of pregnancy. But if the pregnant wife has a medical condition and the doctor has advised against having sexual intercourse with her, there is absolutely no harm or restriction in Islam the couple wish to enjoy full sexual relations with one another, but abstain from actual sexual intercourse according to the doctor’s advise.
Your Question: Can he use wife`s body parts (except anal canal- stool passing area) to release stress?
In such a situation, one may enjoy full sexual relations with the wife just as one is allowed to enjoy one’s wife company when she is in the state of menstrual impurity, when everything is legal except actual sexual intercourse.
The Messenger of Allah said, "(During the menstrual condition of the wife, the husband may) Do everything except intercourse."

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

The question is from all unmarried, married males and females that does muslim female want to have sex in only specific type of positions (usually missionary) or they accept and like other positions too like doggy style. Is it ok for them if husband want to have sex from different positions? Keep in mind that the background of the question is muslim and pakistani culture in which sex is not discussed alot.
It is highly obliged if the answers would be given according to the pregnancy point of view and according to Islam.
Sex Position In Islam And Pregnancy
This is just because having sex without missionary position is considered as asinful attitude.Specially the "women on top" is considered as sinful.Which is wrong view. Secondaly our women are not so confident to perform the sex in women on top position. So in missionary sex position all things should be done by man only. Also the boldness of women during different sex positions is also not liked in conservative society. So due to all these reasons pakisani and muslim couples are restricted to missionary only. In Islam there is no restriction about different sex positions and a Muslim couple can enjoy sex in various positions as liked by them.
Sex Positions In Islam - Mubashrat Ka Islami Tareeqa:
In islaam According to Qura'an Majeed The women (wife) is called as a field (khaiti) for her husband.and it is well stated that "or tumhari biwian tumhare liye khaiti ki tarah hain pas tum jis tarah se chaho in mein Ao". But remember sex in other then vagina is strictly rejected and prohibited. (Wallah Subhana wa Ta'ala Alamo)
Sex Position In Islam And Pregnancy
Sex Ka Tariqa: Different Position Of Sex in Islam
yes, women usually like to have sex in different position. sex in only one position can easily bore them. due to similarity they may not achieve orgasm. but this depends on the husband b/c in our society, sex is felt and percieved as the whole and sole 'field of men'. else the lady should be quite bold enough and mentally+visionary strong to make her husband realize this fact. In Islam however; there is full freedom to adopt any sex position during intercourse. However; during pregnancy as per medical point of view sex position should be specific and un harmful.
Sex Position In Pregnancy - Sex Position In Islam
Now-a-days,girls are much more confident and they may want to have sex in different position .It is always fun to give female the command of a man and sometimes vice-versa.Of course,Humans get bored of a same thing,as you cannot change wife (unless you dnt have more than 1),we should change position. Simply.....we see her at a new angle and enjoy it.
Islamically it has been cleared from the Quran that any body may have any position during sex a Hadith is quoted below as under:
Similarly, Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abbas R.A. narrated that at one day; Hazrat Umar Bin Khattab R.A. came to Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad PBUH and said, “Oh Messenger of Allah! I've destroyed myself! Allah's Messenger PBUH asked: What cause you to say this? Umar R.A. Replied: I've changed the method of my intercourse tonight. (i.e., he approached his wife from the back, but in the proper place). Allah's Messenger PBUH did not comment on the issue (as he doesn't have any jurisdiction to say). Allah then revealed to His Messenger PBUH, on the spot, the above verse in Sura al-Baqara (223):
Sex In Pregnancy In Islam:
As it has already been stated that there in no restriction in Islam as far as sex positions are concerned. Also Islam doesn't have any objection of position in pregnancy. However; medically man on top position would be harmful during pregnancy due to the direct weight impact over tummy of wife and hence would be harmful for baby. Therefore; it is better to avoid other position rather than Missionary during pregnancy. Doctor should also be consulted in this regard.
Sex Positions In Pregnancy
why not we share our experiences with various positions? is it possible here? (Is it allowed Islamically?). Isn't better to share about the position in pregnancy from our own experience?About Pregnant wife Sex

If fears about ‘doing it’ are stressing you out, here’s what you need to know.
One minute, the sight of your partner makes you want to put him out with the weekly garbage; the next, you might want to play a couple of rounds of naked Twister. Par for the course during pregnancy.
See, as your estrogen and progesterone levels rise, they cause changes in your body that boost libido. Estrogen in particular, which serves such pregnancy-related functions as boosting blood flow to your uterus (and to your entire pelvis), also increases vaginal lubrication and heightens sensitivity in your breasts and nipples.
It’s a righteous recipe for romance. But the same hormones can also conspire against you, especially in the beginning when nausea and fatigue can send you to bed for an entirely different reason. And toward the end, you may just feel too huge, unwieldy and, again, tired. (That’s why months four to six or so are often called the “honeymoon” trimester.)
So where does that leave you? The X factor in the sex equation is the relationship between your changing moods and your changing body: Just as every woman’s pregnancy is unique, so is every pregnant woman’s sex drive. If your spirit is willing but fears or misinformation are holding you back, this advice can help you relax.
Sex is usually safe
If you do want to have sex, embrace the ubiquitous three-word Nike slogan. As long as your pregnancy is progressing normally, you can have sex as often as you like (some exceptions may include a history of miscarriage or preterm labor).
Be aware that it’s pretty common for some women to experience bleeding during intercourse, especially in the first trimester. This is caused by the normal swelling of capillaries in the cervix, which can burst when irritated during sex. While such spotting or bleeding is generally nothing to worry about, you should still mention it to your doctor or midwife.
What’s more, there’s typically no chance of hurting the baby during sex because the amniotic fluid and your cervix protect him. But one caution: If you have oral sex, your partner should not blow air into your vagina, as during pregnancy this can cause an air bubble to block a blood vessel.

EA Sport's FIFA series first originated back in 1994 where FIFA International Soccer was hailed as one of the most impressive sporting titles to ever be released. The title spread its coverage by hitting multiple platforms including the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, 3DO, MS-DOS, Sega CD as well as appearing on the Gamegear and Gameboy handhelds.
FIFA first made the transistion to the 32-bit market in the form of FIFA Soccer 96, but unfortunately the series struggled to pick up an indentity on the 32-bit platforms as it had commanded on the 16-bit machines. The problem continued on with FIFA 97.
FIFA debuted on the Nintendo 64 during 1997 in the form of FIFA 64, but found itself facing instant criticism from the media because of a simply awful conversion.
In late 1997, FIFA: Road To World Cup 98 made its appearance on not only the PlayStation, but also the Nintendo 64. The game was hailed as graphicaly superior to Konami's International Superstar Soccer 64, but failed to play smoothly. In 1998, World Cup 98 was released, and failed to really incorporate anything new into the series to warrant a purchase.
